Our Staff

Pastor Steve Parker
pastor@biblebaptistnet.com

Born and raised in the south all his life, Steve Parker received Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of 8.  His Dad & Mom were dedicated Christians, and his Dad served as a minister of music in Baptist churches in the south.  He graduated high school in 1981, from Ocala, FL, and enlisted in the USAF shortly thereafter.  His first assignment was Beale AFB, CA.  Within a few months, God led him to join Bible Baptist Church, where he’s been a member ever since.  In 1985, he married a wonderful Christian girl, Kristi Bell, and God has blessed them with 6 daughters now.

Sensing God’s call to full time ministry, he went into the active reserves, so he could start preparing for full-time ministry.  God used 5 years of Bible training, and 14 years of “Paul / Timothy” preparation under Dr. Brad Weniger, to help prepare him for becoming our Pastor.  He served most of those years in a bi-vocational way through this local church, in the areas of Bus, Sunday School, and Music.  The church was able to offer him a full time staff position as “Associate Pastor” in 2000.  Upon the resignation of our former Pastor, he was offered the position of “Interim Pastor”, and eventually became our Senior Pastor on August 1, 2002.  By God’s grace, and with His help, I want to do all that I can to bring Glory to God in my own life, and the lives of my family, my church, and my community.  God has been so good to me, and I’m excited to serve Him in the very place where he called me to preach His glorious Word!”

Pastor Parker's ministry is known for plain & fervent Bible preaching and a genuine desire to please God and win souls!

Being a native born and raised Californian, Chris Rutledge understands the needs of our west coast youth better than most.  After enlisting in the USAF in 1995, Chris was stationed at Beale AFB here in Marysville in 1997 which is what eventually led him to Bible Baptist Church.  Seeking to know God better, Chris began attending the Bible Institute and soon realized that he was not genuinely saved.  In September of 1998, he received Christ as his own personal Saviour and was baptized just two weeks later.

It was also here at Bible Baptist that he met his future wife, Christy and the two were married in February of 2000.  After leaving the Air Force, Chris still felt that God wanted more from him, so he continued in the Institute and began to pray and study in seeking to know what God's Will was for his life.  It was in the course of a study in Philippians 2 that God impressed on Chris the call to full-time service.  Our pastor, knowing of Chris' call and seeing the level of faithfulness and character in his life over many years, asked him in November of 2002 to begin working with the teens.  Just three months later, at God's leading,  in January 2003, the decision was made to hire him on staff full-time as the Youth Director.

"I have a real desire to build into the next generation of young Christians, the kind of character that God can use for His glory as they seek His Will for their lives."

Our Doctrinal Statement

Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and that it is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. For reasons of textual reliability, we believe that God has preserved His Word
for the English speaking people in the King James Version of the Bible.
II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21

Sovereign God

God is a Person, eternally existing, as a Trinity in unity - Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit, three Persons and yet one God.
Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 26:19, I Corinthians 8:6

The Son

Jesus Christ, eternally existing, is the only begotten Son of God, who became a sinless man
to redeem us. He was born of a virgin and is true God and true man.
Luke 1:30-55, John 1:1-15, Philippians 2:5-8

Service

The local church is a group of believers baptized by water, banded together for edification,
exhortation, and evangelism as commanded by Christ in the Great
Commission; preaching the Gospel to every creature.
          Mark 16:15, I Corinthians 12:12, Ephesians 1:22-23

Sin

Man was created in the image of God but fell through sin, bringing not only physical death, but also
spiritual death or eternal separation from God. Now all of mankind exists as
a fallen race with an inherited sinful nature.
Genesis 2:16, Genesis 3:16-19, Romans 3:10-23, Romans 6:23

Sacrifice of Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died as a substitutionary payment for the sins of the
whole world. He physically arose from the dead and then ascended into Heaven.
Simple faith in this sacrifice is the only way of salvation for mankind.
Luke 24, Acts 1:9-11, Romans 5:8-10, I Peter 3:18

The Last Days

Jesus Christ Himself will soon come again in the air to catch up Believers to reward their service.
The unbelievers left behind will go through a period of the wrath of God being poured out on
all mankind,  after which Christ will return to the Earth to set up His Kingdom of one
thousand years of righteous rule. After this, the unbelievers of all ages will stand
at the Great White Throne to be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire,
separated from God forever, while the believers spend eternity in
the fullness of joy in Heaven with the Lord.
Matthew 24:29-42, I Thessalonians 4:16-18, Revelation 19:11-20:13
